I don't often pay attention to awards shows and the like, but I do love looking at all of the gorgeous clothes that get paraded up and down the red carpets. With the Oscars over for another year I'm sharing my favourite looks from this years awards ceremony.

→ Priyanka Chopra
Feminine, elegant and downright beautiful, Priyanka’s dress drew a gasp from me the first time I saw it. The strapless gown accentuates her gorgeous figure and the white colouring keeps the detail standing out wonderfully against her skin tone.
The sheer elements of the dress are on the right side of classy, whilst the chunky silver of the belt hardens the look somewhat and keeps it from being all-out girly girly. Teamed with a low ponytail and simple makeup to accentuate her dark eyes and plump lips, Priyanka’s look was my favourite of the night.

→ Orlando Jones
Men often get overlooked at events when it comes to the fashion side of things, but Orlando’s incredible jacket needs a mention. He dared to be different and it paid off so well. Teaming a leaf print with metallic colours could’ve been risky, but Orlando’s look was a winner with how simple the rest of his outfit was kept.
This jacket has received so many mixed reviews but I think Orlando totally hit the spot with his Oscars outfit.

→ Julianne Moore
If I were ever to attend anything like the Oscars, Julianne's dress would be the exact type I would plump for. It's classy and elegant with just the right amount of sparkle to keep things complimentary. Black is a go-to choice for so many reasons and this Chanel dress shows that it doesn’t always have to be the morbid choice.
Wearing haute couture is not for the faint-hearted, but Julianne did this beautiful dress justice and the contrast of her fiery hair makes this a match made in heaven.

→ Saoirse Ronan
Glitz and glam is part of the main appeal for red carpet dresses. This one of Saoirse's caught my eye and I fell in love immediately. The colour is wonderfully mermaid-like and it compliments her skin tone and hair colour beautifully. The deep emerald dress is a perfect link to Saoirse's Irish roots and looks stunning from every angle.
It'd be easy to go overboard with a dress like this but sticking with unfussy hair and makeup kept all of the attention on that gorgeous heap of sequins.

→ Sylvester Stallone
Another guy braving a step away from an all-black suit was the one and only Sylvester Stallone, whose blue outfit caught my eye for all the right reasons. The midnight blue of his suit worked wonderfully against a black shirt and bowtie, all linked together with the black lapels of his suit jacket.
Sly looked completely dapper and, at having now hit 69, showed that fashion isn’t just a game for the youngsters.
